As a 2025 Jim Henson recipient I wanted to show Tillie the Terrible Swede at the place I have been calling home for the last 25 years: the Swedish Cottage Marionette Theater. Please come and see our wonderful show about one of the best bicylists you probably never heard of!

About the event
Tillie the Terrible Swede is inspired by the real-life Matilda Andersson. Matilda came as an immigrant from Sweden to Chicago in 1891. She bought herself a bicycle and started practicing. Soon she became good- so good she started travelling across the country competing in six-day bicycle races.
